Educational Programs

Twice per year, MGF of Illinois hosts educational meetings for MG patients, families and friends. The speaker may be a physician from our Medical Advisory Board or a panel of MAB physicians; other times we invite a speaker from another discipline or organization. Topics that have been covered include:

  • Stress, relaxation techniques and MG
  • Fatigue, sleep and MG
  • Ocular MG
  • MG – What You Probably Don’t Know (an overview of the disease, research and related conditions and side effects)
  • Motivational Tips for Conquering MG
  • Speech and Swallowing

Abbreviated versions of the speeches are available on http://www.youtube.com/user/mgfi.

If you would like to purchase a full-length DVD of any of our educational sessions, click here to be directed to the order form.

Attending an educational session is an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in MG research and treatment. It is also a valuable occasion to talk to others who have the disease or who care for someone with MG. The sessions include lunch and generally last 3 ½ to 4 hours.

Our educational meetings are held in the spring and fall. See the What’s Happening section of our Home Page for registration details.
